Milford Travel Tips

Getting there

The Milford Center is at 445 East Main Street, Milford, MA (USA), approximately 40 miles (65 km) southwest of downtown Boston via I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) and I-495. Aforementioned route, which has Tolls, is the shortest drive from Boston. Alternate routes avoid Tolls but may take significantly longer.

By Air

Both Boston Logan Airport (BOS), and Providence Rhode Island’s T.F. Green International Airport are approximately 45 miles (70 km) from Milford. Renting a car is easy at either airport. The drive is easier from Providence with less traffic and congestion, while public transportation is only available in Boston.

The Logan Express is a bus service that provides easy, direct rides from Logan airport to Framingham, a town 10 miles (16 km) north of Milford. One-way tickets on the Logan Express cost $12.

For the March workshop, we intend to have some shuttle/pickup options for those needing transportation to/from Framingham. Car rentals are also easily accessed through the Boston Logan airport. Car rentals are also available in Framingham.

Bradley International Airport (BDL), located 93 miles (150 km) west of the Center in Hartford, CT, is the next-closest airport and may be an alternative worth exploring on basis of price and convenience (traffic between Hartford, CT and Milford, MA is minimal). Car rental or a ride-share (Lyft or Uber) would be the primary options to get from BDL to the Center.

By Train

Travelers along the East Coast rail corridor may find it less expensive to take the train to either Providence and rent a car, or Boston and continue on public transportation. You will avoid going through checkpoints, save a little money, and have time during the ride to get some quiet work done for the day. But it does take all day.

By Car

Use your GPS or smartphone's map application to navigate to the Center at 445 East Main Street, Milford, MA. Parking is available at the center.

Hotels

For workshop attendees, there are four hotels within a 2 miles (3 km) of the Milford Center, which have agreed to provide discounted rates for Sheng Zhen students (rates range from $85-99 for the March 6-8 workshop). Check sites for amenities.
