Rutter’s Mill Park

with Teachers: Peter Van Buren and Donna Blackwell

All classes are open to everyone; beginners, drop-ins, and onlookers are welcome for any class.

Bolton Hill Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30-6:30 pm, under the trees in Rutter’s Mill Park, behind On the Hill Cafe, between Mosher, Mt. Royal, Lafayette, and John streets. Many thanks to the Rutter Mill Park Association for their care of this lovely public space that makes a perfect Sheng Zhen classroom.

What About Rain?

Summer Rain rules apply: If it's pouring rain at 5:15, we probably won't be there. But if it's anything up to that, we probably will. The drizzle keeps the crowds away, and I'm betting we can still find space to meditate in the rain under the gazebo. Waterproof yourself and join us if you want .

Our 1-hour classes focus on both seated forms like, Sheng Zhen Healing, and standing forms like, Heaven Nature Heart Mantra. These forms are easy to learn, and quickly provide great benefits to students.

No mats or chairs are needed, but if you have a meditation stool, bring it. Simply wear comfortable clothing that stretches.

Please be mindful of everyone’s health when attending class. We have a large, open indoor spaces for practicing, and we keep at least 6 ft. of personal space around us so we can move. Please feel free to wear a mask, though they are not required at this time. Of course, please do not attend if you are feeling sick.

All classes are FREE. We encourage you to show gratitude to our winter hosts by supporting them using these links:

If you would like to support the Sheng Zhen Practice and our teaching, please donate to the Sheng Zhen Society of America here.

Come practice with a wonderful group of people, and do something good for your body, mind, and spirit. If you have questions or need more information, please email Peter@ShengZhenMaryland.org.
